The following post was written by my friend Olivia Pitman. Olivia and I met several years ago when I, along with my high school students, rented the auditorium she was managing for our spring musical.
As often happens in today’s world, although we didn’t continue to see one another face to face, I became her online stalker, following her life on facebook, instagram, and pinterest.
I know you do it too!
Face it, y’all, we’re all stalkers. 😉
But, I digress …..
I have written about my own separation and near divorce. I know that God exists; I know He still performs miracles because I know that my marriage is a miracle. To be where we are today, looking back on where we were then …. is nothing short of a miracle.
(Links to previous posts at the bottom of the page if you’re interested.)
God redeemed and resurrected my marriage and it has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
But what’s crazy is that I seem to forget that I have been divorced. I was married once before. And maybe I’ll write about that someday too but, because I’ve been there, I closely identify with Olivia’s journey. And I believe you will too …..
I Upgraded (and so did my ex-husband)
A few nights ago I was driving home from work with my left hand positioned on the steering wheel at just the right angle so that as I slowed to a stop in my driveway, I was left to gaze at my engagement ring in a very typical “just engaged” fashion. The diamond sparkled beautifully in the dim lighting of the night & it fit like a dream. “Damn,” I thought to myself, “I upgraded.”
Thank you Olivia for allowing me to share your story here.
Praying for you and Scott and Ethan and Sarah. God’s grace is such a beautiful thing! 😉
And if you want to know more about Olivia or stalk her online like I do (Just kidding!!) you can find her here:
And if you haven’t read my own story you can find it here …..
