If you have not yet downloaded the #first5 app from Proverbs 31 Ministries you don’t know what you’re missing out on! But don’t just download it, use it! This app was created to give God your Genesis moments, your first thoughts of the day, everyday, to Him.
I read my #first 5 devotion as soon as I wake up in the morning before my coffee, before my shower, before I even put my contacts in. I am reading God’s Word before I head to facebook or Instagram or email. Granted, being half comatose first thing in the morning, I may not always retain a lot of what I have read so I come back to it during my planning period at school where I re-read the devotion, take notes, and study the chapter in depth.
Today Wendy Blight asked us to pray to God using Psalm 119:57-64 as our guide. The following is my prayer that I am honored to share with you.
My post from earlier with my periscope video can be found here:
I thank You that You are my portion.
Sometimes I find that I am scared and I am afraid of what You may ask of me. Even now I am almost scared to write these words, to make this vow to You. I am scared of what You may ask me to do in order that You may test my faith.
But I don’t want to be scared. I don’t want to live in fear.
I know that You are good and I know that Your plan for my life is good.
I trust you, God.
I trust in You and my trust in You, in Your love, in Your goodness, and in Your faithfulness will be greater than any fear the enemy may try to bind me with.
God, Abba Father, before You, I promise to obey Your Word.
God, I will seek Your face with all my heart.
All the days of my life I will seek you with all my heart, and with all my soul, and with all my mind.
With all that I am I will love you, I will follow you, and I will obey You.
With all that I am.
God, I ask and I know that out of your great love, your great mercy, your great grace, your great faithfulness, and your great compassion for me You will be gracious to me according to Your promises in Your Word.
God, I have considered my ways and I have and I will continue to turn my steps to Your statutes. I will listen for Your voice, for Your guidance, and for Your direction for my life.
Right now, I will obey You.
Right now I will submit my heart and my life to You.
I will hasten and not delay to obey Your commands.
I will be prompt in my obedience to Your call because I know that my delay or my procrastination is a type of disobedience and I only want to be obedient to You, Abba Father, in whatever may come my way …
I will not forget Your law.
I will rise to give You thanks.
I will follow Your precepts.
Because I know that the earth is filled with Your love, Lord. The earth is filled with Your love for me, Lord. Please teach me Your decrees that I may walk in obedience in Your will, in Your truth, in Your love all the days of my life.
In Jesus’ precious and holy name,
57 You are my portion, Lord;
I have promised to obey your words.
58 I have sought your face with all my heart;
be gracious to me according to your promise.
59 I have considered my ways
and have turned my steps to your statutes.
60 I will hasten and not delay
to obey your commands.
61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes,
I will not forget your law.
62 At midnight I rise to give you thanks
for your righteous laws.
63 I am a friend to all who fear you,
to all who follow your precepts.
64 The earth is filled with your love, Lord;
teach me your decrees.
